Hi Substack Community,
This is Denis Efremov, I serve as Principal at R136 Ventures. I spent more than 10 years in investments and consulting, and this is the only thing I was doing throughout my career. I don’t believe I am the smartest in the room, and I bow down before founders and operators, but I have some stories from my active experience at R136 Ventures and past experience at Seedstars, Fort Ross Ventures or McKinsey & Company.
Some vanity metrics on who I am:
As I said, I have never been a founder, but I also believe that the best investors are former founders
I believe I reviewed vastly more than 5,000 startups, but I believe 80% of them were rejected because of them being outside of my focus
I participated in investing deals in the US the most, but I had more exits from Israeli portfolio than from the US portfolio
80% of my active network is virtual, as I love meeting people online and use a straight-to-the-point approach in networking
I once approved a $3M wire for investment as an analyst without prior approval from my partner
I have a PhD, but I had troubles explaining my topic to my scientific opponents since I wrote about FoFs
What would I write about?

Getting back to the topics:
Reports and analytics about VC markets mostly covering B2B SaaS and Fintech - 80% of content shall be based on some interesting reports;
Round Brief - a quick interview with founders about their recent fundraising experience;
Valuation benchmarks and other data that could be helpful for founders in their fundraising.
